Story - Thoughts On New Developments

Game Date: 7/10/2005
Location: San Francisco, California

Who: Knight of Saint Michael

William was in Notre Dame des Victoires contemplating recent events. Mystic was most interesting. The merest hint of evil, then nothing. No patience. No tolerance of water. No table manners, but no worse than Prime. One would think that he would be more cautious and more patient considering his position. Then again, William understood how being the only remainder of your family can wear on one. He would have to find out if Mystic even really knew others of his kind. But first he had to find out whether or not he was even interested in helping Mystic. Then he would have to ascertain whether or not Mystic was truly interested in getting help.

It is your Christian duty, said a voice.

That made up William's mind on that subject. It was on to the next subject, which was the matter of Die Wächter and Sturmwacht. That was turning into a very confused situation. He would have to be at his best in facilitating a deal between the FSS and the old members of Die Wächter. I need more guidance. May You assist me in containing Sturmwacht, prayed William.

Prime proved to be as much of a problem as ever. May You grant me the power and strength not to give up and not to let him harm anyone with his carelessness. William reminded himself to check the base thoroughly for any breaches so as to seal them. I need all the help I can get. William began to consider the possibility of researching Professor Herbert. After all, he couldn't just get only Prime's view of the man.

William also needed to find out more about the holy light. It didn't come against Mystic. Maybe he really did need Evil to make it come out. Maybe Evil was the only thing the light was meant to combat. But wasn't holy light needed to show mankind the way? Was William supposed to show mankind the way? Or was he to clear the way for one who is supposed to show mankind the way?

So many possibilities. So little time. Was ruling Crossing March like this?

William only needed to feel the sad, wistful smile to know that Uncle Geoffroi was telling him it was.

In the meantime, William would seek counsel from Lazarus and Lady Amethyst. He at least knew that Uncle Geoffroi had a council to turn to maybe he needed one of his own. William thanked God for the Wardens, such as they were.

William got up to go to Alcatraz. He would need to refocus in the practice room. He decided to warm up by running from Notre Dame des Victoires to Alcatraz. He briefly thought of swimming there, but his own common sense as well as his family's looks of horror and disapproval kept him from trying it. They now knew what sharks were and disliked them when they weren't grilled or broiled. The Knight of St. Michael entered the practice room and began his martial routine of the very finest Norman battle brutality. Though he worked for two hours, the holy light never emanated from his weapons. However, he had only visualized Saxons during practice.
