Rogue Prime, Part 2 - Stories

Post-Session: 28

A look at what happened during and/or after Session 28.

Story - Blood Curdling Screams... Ah, Dreams

Game Date: 5/28/2006
Location: San Francisco, California

Who: Prime

One evening, Prime blinks in amazement as the collected second edition of Sherlock Holmes mysteries held in his paws twists into a mammoth tome with a grizzled black leather cover inscribed with twisted demonic figures and alchemical symbols. This is something... unusual.

As he carefully opens the tome, the complex pathways impressed into his mind by the cosmic computer's long possession instantly translates the alchemical symbols and obscure Latin script - aided in part by his rather superficial knowledge of fringe sciences.

He gasps as he cuts a finger on a sharp-edged page, then without even realizing what he is doing, begins sketching out a circle of small symbol's on the wall in his own blood. His voice falls into a low guttural mutter as he recites the arcane phrases contained within the passages. Words clearly never meant to come from a human throat - but that are surprisingly easy for Prime.

A dim sinister red glow began to surround the book as its ancient magics thirsted to be unleashed. Then, as the last key phrase is about to be spoken - the linchpin that would unleash a being incomprehensible to mere human minds - the book changes back and its arcane enchantments fade from this world - and Prime's mind. The bloody symbols dissolve from the steel wall in an instant as the writing is consumed by the suddenly stifled magics.

Prime stares at the collection of mysteries for a moment as he struggles to clutch at the fading shadows of what had happened. He was about to do... something. Something important. Oh well, he sighs, on to the next one as he tosses the book carelessly aside and goes sorting through the scattered piles for a new book to transform.

The security staff member stares at the monitor. It shows Prime laying on his bed convulsing violently. He picks up his radio and is about to open the channel to call for medical assistance when the furry orange primate stops jerking around and settles back into a calm resting state. Jack, his partner, is just about to change one of the cameras' DVDs, so he makes a note in the log to have the disc referred to medical for review.
