Story - Just Hanging Around the Base...

Game Date: 9/3/2007

Who: Amethyst (II), Gianna, Toby

After a long week dealing with the aftermath of the lockdown, I decided to spend a few days at the base just to be sure everything had returned to normal. I called Janelle to alert her that I would be out of the office on Monday.

"Karalyn, Dr. Adair called and asked for you to call him at your first convince." Janelle told me.

"Thanks, Janelle! Take care." I told her before I hung the phone.

I went to the gym to work off some of my antsyness. I thought I was alone but then noticed that Toby and Gianna were there.

"Amethyst, are you doing better?" Toby asked.

"Yes, I just needed to work off some extra energy." I answered.

I spent an hour working out with the kids.

Afterwards, Gianna came over to me while Toby was changing. She was upset about not getting to see Toby as much as she did during the summer. She said that it was not fair that Toby had to be locked up at the headquarters and could not have a real life.

I tried to comfort her as best I could.

"Gianna, I know that you really want to spend more time with Toby. I need to figure out something that will help Toby have the real life that you were talking about and soon. In the meantime, you can keep Toby's spirits up by spending extra time with him at the headquarters. I will let Mr. Gray know that you might be out of some of the upcoming training sessions."

Gianna smiled and thanked me then asked a hard question.

"When will Toby be able to tell his parents that he is still alive?"

It kind of took me off guard. It was something I had been thinking about, after all Janelle and Aaron deserved to know that their long lost son was alive. Yet, I had not figured out how to tell them.

"Hopefully soon," I replied to the girl.

She smiled then ran over to Toby and the two left the training area.

Too many heavy things to think about and they just kept coming.

I needed a diversion so I went back to my base apartment and called Declan.

We agreed to meet for dinner at his apartment.
