Wardens Fourth Edition
Faith and Order - Downtime
A look at what happened after Session 24.
Area and Group Notes
The ceremony for tenth anniversary of the founding of the Wardens gets a later start as it is delayed until the Wardens return to Alcatraz Island. The team garners praise from the government officials in attendance for their continued service to the community as exemplified by the encounter from earlier in the day. There are many photo ops for both the members of the team and attendees.
The Knight is welcomed back from his 'vacation' as it had not been publicly announced that he was missing in action and presumed dead.
Noir (Lazarus), Asenblut and Vanenspeer stay in the background as associates of the team and for the most part avoid the press except for one photographer that takes a couple of shots of Lazarus. The photographer also asks Noir in French about his wearing a Grand Empire battle helmet but before Lazarus can answer a reporter grabs the photographer by the arm and chastises him for wandering off.
The Case of the Missing Sword and Shield
Eon (Lazarus), Prime
Judah sees the Knight wearing one of the second chance medallions and asks him about it. The Knight relates the story of getting the medallion while it a hospital and how it triggered his recovery from amnesia. Judah explains to the Knight that he has been going around incognito healing badly injured persons and giving them the medallions. Both realize that fate has linked the two of them but for what purpose neither knew.
Karalyn Nicholas, a.k.a. Amethyst (II)
Karalyn finds the plea negotiations for der Kampfkoloss, die Kampfmaschine, Kriegstochter, Panzer, der Grüne Ritter and Jagdpanzer dragging along. The FSS legal staff and the Orion tribunal are hesitant to go along with the 'house arrest' portion of the plea deal. Their superiors are pushing for incarceration in a penal facility. Karalyn and Dieter ask for a few days break to review the prosecution's position on the matter.
Amethyst spends a lot of time working out alone and with the team as a stress reliever. She is happy the Knight is back as keeping an eye on Prime with him and Randy gone was getting tiresome.
Randy McLeod, a.k.a. Delta-Vee
Randy spends time away from the team getting familiar with the changes in his abilities. He still was not sure about whether he believed Prime with his mad scientist approach to the scientific method and lax adherence to safety protocols, or not. The 'super-evolved intellect' could have exposed the whole team to massive amounts of cosmic radiation by accident and would probably never admit to it.
Judah Ambrose, a.k.a. Eon (Lazarus)
After the festivities are over, Judah returns to his quarters to find the pieced together sword and shield of the Knight missing from the shadowbox where he had displayed them. He orders up the security recordings of his room while he was gone and finds that they were there one frame and gone the next. He seeks Prime's help in determining what happened to the missing sword and shield.
After the failed attempt to enlist Prime's aid, Judah asks for a through computer analysis of the security recordings at the time when sword and shield disappeared.
William Rouen, a.k.a. Knight of Saint Michael
The reunion with Bridie is especially poignant as he brings along Chris and Helena to help explain that his return from the dead.
William spends a lot of time catching up on what has happened while he was gone.
The Knight finds that the Grand Empire is still in a shambles after the raids and that Orion intelligence believes that they have pulled out of North America completely.
The Knight is surprised by the amount of time that Prime has been spending in the lab. Whatever he is working on has become an obsession because the Knight can remember no other project that Prime had worked on for so long. Usually he would tinker with something, get distracted by something else, then maybe come back to the first project, maybe not. He had even had a high-speed printer and backup memory units delivered for printing and saving output since he was not allowed to connect his system to SAM. This computer that he was working on must truly be something special to have captured Mr. Impulsive's attention for so long.
A check with der Grüne Ritter in Alta Verde finds that the Grand Empire has been consolidating their positions in South America and appears to have ramped up recruiting and training of new operatives. Der Grüne Ritter believes that it is highly likely that Alta Verde could be facing another Grand Empire attack soon. The council is considering ending reparation negotiations with the FSS and Orion as well as calling Asenblut and Vanenspeer back to the valley.
Kore Moorland, a.k.a. Miss Majestic
Armstrong warns Kore that a member of the Enclave was in the city looking for her and that she could not leave the estate. Kore objects to Armstrong's edict and tells him that she can take care of herself. Rhiannon acting to keep the peace, steps in and calms both of the Moorlands down. She suggests a compromise, Kore stays at the estate until the extent of the threat can be determined. Kore starts to complain saying that the plan is not a compromise because she has to stay and Armstrong gives up nothing. Rhiannon chides Kore and ask to be allowed to finish explaining the plan. Kore backs down and Rhiannon explains that the price Armstrong will have to pay if Kore stays at the estate is that he will have to provide instruction to her on the basics of neutralizing the cipher spells used by Moorlands on their journals. When Armstrong starts to complain, Rhiannon shakes her head and stares him down. In the end the two Moorlands agree to the compromise.
