Rock and Meteor

Drake Moorland (Mandrake), Dameon Black (Shadowknight), Albert Cage (Photon), Adin Shire (Rock), Pankaj Shindar (Marut).

Albert tries to track the origination of the strange package. His visits the office of the courier company that delivered the package. All they are able to tell him is that a Asian male teen had dropped the package and paid cash for the delivery. The name listed on the document receipt as the sender is C. Chan.

Drake consults with Pankaj and the Courier legal department about the effectiveness of doing an interview rebutting the charges. The legal department advises him not to take action and see how things play out over the next couple of weeks. Pankaj says that he will have some of his contacts in India conducted investigations into the operations of the subcontractors there.

Rock goes to the FSS Headquarters at the Presidio. He asks if he can get a tank gun to protect himself from Meteor. The FSS is suspicious of Rock and asks him to fill out some papers for a background check. Agent Susan Chen, having read his encounter report with Rock, calls Photon and asks him to come down to FSS headquarters.

Photon arrives at FSS headquarters and talks with Agent Chen about Rock. It is decided that Rock will be watched after by the Wardens until the background check information is received. Photon and Rock talk about the situation. Photon calls Mandrake and arranges for a meeting in Golden Gate Park that evening. Photon spends the rest of the day watching Rock.

Mandrake calls Dameon at the warehouse headquarters and tells him about the meeting with Rock set for that evening. Dameon says that he will be there as he is anxious to meet the person that bested Azedmar.

Drake and Pankaj have dinner at the Pacific Union Club with Walter Konrad, CEO of PacCom. They discuss Alcatraz Foundation business and any possible fallout from the labor allegations against Courier.

Mandrake and Shadowknight meet Photon and Rock at Golden Gate Park. Rock tells them the story of his encounter with Meteor in San Diego. Rock goes on to explain how he got his abilities and tells them that he is Dr. Adin Shire. Rock ask if he can stay with the Wardens so that he can learn more about his abilities and learn to fight better so that he can protect himself from Meteor.

As they are talking everyone notices a fiery ball of rock falling from the sky towards them. Rock yells out Meteor as a blast of energy hits the ground next to the group. Photon flies up to meet Meteor. Rock starts yelling at Meteor in a language none of the others recognize. Meteor, Photon and Mandrake exchange blasts. Meteor closes and launches a massive blast at the group. Rock lashes out at Meteor with a rock spar. Dameon notices that someone is moving around behind the hedgerow. Fearing that Meteor might have reinforcements Dameon decides to investigate. Meteor fires a couple of more blasts and then retreats. Photon and Rock follow him. Photon is blasted by Meteor. The blast rips through Photon's battlesuit burning his chest and breaking a couple of his ribs. Photon decides to discontinue pursuit. Rock continues to chase Meteor until the bay blocks his way. Dameon discovers Wendy Miller hiding behind the hedgerow. She tells him that she is a reporter with the Madame Mystery staff and had got a tip that some of the Wardens were having a meeting in the park. He tells her to watch out for herself as covering paranormals can be very dangerous. She thanks him and leaves.

Rock lays down and goes to sleep in a demolished building. The next day he returns to FSS headquarters. Agent Susan Chen calls Mandrake and tells him that Rock has returned. Arrangements are made to keep track of Rock.

Photon tells Mandrake his identity and how he came to have the Photon battlesuit. He asks Mandrake if there is anyone on the team that might be able to help him repair his battlesuit. Mandrake says that Scorpion built his battlesuit and might be able to help Photon repair the damage to his battlesuit.

When Rock returns to FSS headquarters, Agent Susan Chen calls Mandrake and tells him that Rock is there. Arrangements are made to keep track of Rock.

Drake speaks with Shelby about looking into the allegations against Courier. Shelby says that he would like to but he is currently very busy with a couple of other investigations and industrial espionage is a bit out of his area of expertise. Shelby apologizes for not being able to help.

Drake and Constance go to dinner at Masa's. When he casually mentions Smithson on the way to her hotel, she looks at him coldly and says that Smithson is evil to the core and is to be avoided at all costs. The next morning, The society page of the San Francisco Examiner has a photograph of Drake and Constance having dinner at Masa's.

Drake spends most of the day Saturday decoding and reading his father's journals. He finds himself distracted from time to time thinking about Courier's business problems.

Albert takes Melinda on a dinner cruise aboard the Hornblower Dining Yachts for their six month anniversary. After dining and dancing they spend the rest of the evening at her apartment.

Drake goes out to the clubs looking for Arla and Ilya. He catches up with them and they talk. They tell him that someone with talent has been looking for something north of the city.
