Membership Drive?
Allyson Michelle (Blue Rose), Chris Hamilton (Brasidas), Eve Smith (Shadow Tiger), Frank Flaherty (Silver Star), Horatio Eon, Marina Forlon.
Eve has a dream about Tom Sawyer. The dream is very romance novel like with trips to exotic places and Tom being the heroic lover figure. As the dream continues, Eve starts to feel insecure and notices that everyone is staring at her. Eve then realizes that it is Marina as the central character of the dream and not herself. Eve feels strange as if she is spying on Marina. The dream changes to one in which the other people are chasing Marina and throwing stones at her. There is a sense of desperation as Marina comes to a cliff and looks down at the ocean below. Then there is a sensation of falling and Eve bolts up in bed fully awake. Eve also senses that Marina has awakened from her coma and heads for the Wardens' infirmary.
Brasidas makes his nightly visit to the infirmary to check up on Marina and give her another pep talk. He sets his spear and shield by the door and takes off his helmet and cradles it under his arm.
As he approaches Marina's therapeutic couch, she bolts upright in the bed. There are several bright flashes of laser-like light. The air/water mattress of Marina's therapeutic couch is punctured. She is soaked as both she and the water from the mattress end up in the plastic shell of the therapeutic couch. The electrical monitoring instruments start shorting out and cause several small electrical fires.
The base fire alarms go off, Silver Star and Ally head to the infirmary after quizzing Whitney as to the fire's location. Two firefighter agents also head toward the infirmary. The fire suppression system quickly brings the fires under control.
Brasidas, staring at the spectacle caused by Marina's sudden waking, is almost bowled over by Eve as she comes rushing into Marina's room. The nurses on duty rush into Marina's room to check on her. Marina realizing that she is wearing the equivalent of a gauze bandage bikini that her dowsing in the water has turned transparent and seeing Brasidas standing in the doorway, starts shouting, "Get Out!"
The nurses insist that Brasidas leave the room. He relents and goes out into the infirmary. Silver Star and Ally arrive to see Brasidas retreating from the screaming Marina's room as the nurses pull what is left of the curtains closed.
The firefighter agents arrive and check the ceiling panels adjacent to Marina's room to ensure that the fires have not gotten past the fire suppression wall in the ceiling.
The nurses start checking Marina and send for Dr. Rebecca Miller. Eve gets Marina up out of what is left of the therapeutic couch and starts drying her off. Dr. Miller arrives and starts checking Marina.
Eve asks Ally to get some clothes for Marina. Dr. Miller tells Ally to check her suite as she has some sweat pants and a sweatshirt that should fit Marina. Ally gets the clothes from Dr. Miller's room and takes them back to the infirmary.
After Marina is checked out and clothed, she asks to speak with the Wardens. Eve checks with Dr. Miller, who gives her approval. The Wardens and Marina go to the common room on sub-level two.
Marina tells the Wardens that her encounter with Nekros was not an accident and that she had sought out the creature. She tells them that she is a paranormal. Marina says that she thought if she could find whatever it was that had taken Bobby and take it down then the Wardens would have to consider her as a candidate for membership in the group. She apologizes for her rash actions. Marina then notices that she is wearing the bonding bracelet and asks why she is wearing it. Eve explains the reason for the bracelet and why she has one that matches Marina's. Marina with a look of terror on her face starts begging the Wardens to kill her. She does not want Nekros to come back and if she would serve as a vehicle for its return, it is best just to kill her. Eve calms Marina down and says that killing her is not an option and that the Wardens would help to make sure that Nekros did not use her to return to life. Marina tells them that she remembers the ride in the ambulance. She tells the group that she saw Miklas in the ambulance and then heard him up on the ambulance roof. She also remembers being in the FSS infirmary. She also has this image of this handsome heroic figure but she does not recall who his is. Brasidas asks her who is Bobby? Marina answers Robert Forsythe, a friend from school. Whitney verifies that Robert Forsythe was reported missing near Nekros' new lair. Marina starts crying. Brasidas and Eve get the impression that Bobby and Marina were more than just friends.
Dr. Miller suggests that Marina get some rest. Due to the fire in the infirmary, Marina is setup in one of the residential suites on sub-level two. Dr. Miller gives her a quick once over before giving her a sedative to help her rest.
Silver Star and Ally go back to their respective residential suites.
Eve and Brasidas talk about what Marina had just revealed to them. Brasidas says that it is probably a good idea to allow Marina to join the Wardens, that way she would be close at hand if something did happen regarding Nekros or the Darkling Entity. He also states that he is worried about her mental health. She was very quick to suggest that the Wardens kill her when she was told that she represented a peril to others. Eve says that she can sometimes sense what Marina is feeling and that Marina is very confused right now. Eve thinks it would be good for Marina to talk to Dr. Saveda before she is allowed to join the group. Eve does agree that if Marina is mentally able then she does not see a reason to stopped Marina from joining the group, that is if Marina still wants to join the group. Eve begs her leave telling Brasidas that they continue their discussion in the morning.
Brasidas visits Frank and they talk about Marina. Brasidas tells Frank about his discussion with Eve. Frank says he agrees that Marina needs to be checked out by Dr. Saveda. If everything is okay with her from a mental standpoint, then the group can discuss Marina's membership in the Wardens.
Brasidas heads out on his nightly patrol. It is a very quiet night giving him time to replay the events from earlier in the evening over and over again. "Analyze then react," that was what dream Brasidas said was one of the keys to victory.
The next day, Ally goes to her house to take a break from the base. Her quiet day at home is interrupted by a knock at the door. She looks out the window to see a police cruiser in her driveway and two officers at the door. The officers ask if she is Allyson Michelle, she tells them that she will get Allyson. Ally runs upstairs and changes into Allyson. She throws on a warm-up suit and goes back downstairs. The police ask her if she has seen Reid Davis recently, she tells them that she has not seen Reid for several months. They ask her if Reid had any enemies. Allyson asks the police what is going on and they tell her that Reid is missing. He was last seen two weeks ago leaving his office at UCLA. After a few more questions, the police officers leave a card and Allyson to get in touch with them if she can think of anything that may help with their investigation.
After the police leave, Allyson turns back into Ally and goes back to Alcatraz.
Later that day, Whitney tells Frank that the Wardens have a visitor. The visitor says that he is "Shockwave" and is wearing Shockwave's armor but his retina scan and voiceprint do not match those on file for Shockwave. Silver Star tells Whitney to have "Shockwave" wait in the conference room. Silver Star, Horatio Eon and Blue Rose go to the conference room to meet with "Shockwave." Shadow Tiger stays outside the conference room.
"Shockwave" tells Silver Star that he is back from his independent missions and has checked in with the FSS to change his status with the Wardens back to active. "Shockwave" gives Silver Star some computer disks that he says will shed some light on the retirement of the Project: Avenger agents and some other goings on at the FSS. Shadow Tiger ask Whitney through her communicator so that the others can hear to check with the FSS about "Shockwave." Whitney tells everyone through their communicators that the FSS retina and voiceprint records say that this guy is the real Shockwave. Shadow Tiger tells the others via communicator that Tom returned the Shockwave armor to the FSS before he left for Canada.
Silver Star confronts "Shockwave" and tells him the charade is up. The Wardens know that he is not the original Shockwave and he can quit pretending to be him. "Shockwave" sticks by his story. When Silver Star's manner gets a bit more threatening, "Shockwave" leaves. As he is leaving his tells the group that he will report this encounter to the FSS.
Silver Star has Whitney do a check on the disks that "Shockwave" had given him. Whitney's check reveals that the disks are virus free and the information on them is high security level FSS files. The information is almost the same as the information given by Tom Sawyer but the files from "Shockwave" seem to be original files from the FSS while Tom's information seemed to be a report written by someone that had seen the original files.
Eve sends a message to Tom telling him about the new "Shockwave" showing up at the Alcatraz headquarters.
