Black Arion Arises - September 11, 2001

Upon their return to Alcatraz, Shadow Tiger, Horatio Eon and Phantom are surprised to find that the attack on the United Mutual Pyramid was not an isolated incident. Attacks had been carried out in nine major cities throughout the United States.

In New York City, the twin towers of the World Trade Center had been subjected to a massive invasion by paranormal terrorists. The attacks had succeeded in catching both buildings on fire and after a short time had lead to the collapse of both towers. Thousands had been killed including numerous rescue workers who had been trying to save the building occupants while battles and fires raged about them. Also missing and believed dead in the building collapse where all of the members of the Goldstar Foundation. The Goldstar Reserves were on the scene trying to help locate survivors.

In Washington, D.C., a paranormal carrying two tanker trailers filled with gasoline had flown at a high speed into the Pentagon. Rescue workers were on the scene fighting the fires that had broke out in the aftermath of the attack. Estimates had placed the number dead in the range of 400 to 500. The Minutemen were aiding the rescue workers in bringing the blazes under control and rescuing survivors from the damaged building. Reports also indicated that Pulsar was patrolling the skies over the capitol along with several F-16 Falcon jets.

In Chicago, the Sears Tower had come under attack by a group of paranormal terrorists. They had been met by members of the Blake Foundation. The building suffered major damage when one of the terrorists had caused a massive explosion. Several hundred people had been killed. Corona and Express of the Blake Foundation had been severely injured.

In Atlanta, the Cable News Alliance Tower was attacked by a group of paranormal terrorists. Members of Southern Front responded and combated the terrorists. One of the terrorists caused a massive explosion that had destroyed the CNA broadcast center. The explosion killed several hundred people including broadcast personnel who had been on the air reporting on the New York City attacks. The fires that followed the explosion were rapidly brought under control by Firebird and Heatwave of Southern Front.

In Dallas, the Parris Building had come under attack by a group of paranormal terrorists. The terrorists and members of the New Rangers did battle throughout the building. The building was severely damaged when the leader of the terrorists caused a massive explosion. Several hundred people were killed in the explosion and ensuing fires. The New Rangers were working with rescue crews to combat the fires and find survivors.

In Houston, the LoneStar Building was attacked by a group of paranormal terrorists. The Houston Knights responded and fought the terrorists. The LoneStar Building was badly damaged in the fighting and when the leader of the terrorists exploded. Several hundred people were killed by the explosion and collapse of the building's WestStar wing. The Houston Knights were said to be patrolling the skies over Houston trying to find several terrorists that had escaped.

In Los Angeles, the Colony Building had been attacked by paranormal terrorists. The Sentinels-LA met the terrorists and did battle. The ensuing combat did a great deal of damage to the building. Several hundred people were killed when the building suffered a partial collapse caused by one of the terrorist exploding. Zephyr of the Sentinels-LA had assisted in extinguishing the fires that resulted from the explosion. Efforts were underway to enhance the stability of the structure and prevent a total collapse of the building.

The last attack had occurred in Boston. The Fleet Building was attacked by a group of paranormal terrorists about a half an hour after the other attacks. The terrorists were met and stopped by the New Americans and former New American Warhawk. The battle was fierce and all of the terrorists had died in combat. The leader of the terrorist when he tried to charge up and explode had been tackled by Warhawk. They went through a window and out of the building. The explosion did little damage to the Fleet building other that shattering many windows in it and the surrounding buildings. The explosion did, however, kill both the terrorist and Warhawk.

Several hours after the attacks a video was aired by all the major news agencies. In the video a man claiming to be the son of Mikal Arion took credit for being the mastermind behind the attacks. He said that the Black Arion Movement was back and would make the United States pay for the death of his father. He also claims that the Black Arion Movement will act against any government that passes laws design to restrict or persecute paranormals.
