Dinner and a Ring?
"Hello," said Allyson "Blue Rose" Michelle on the phone in her office at the Wardens headquarters.
"Hi, Allyson, this Reid," said the voice on the end of the phone.
"Hi, Reid. I am so glad to hear from you. I am taking the next two weeks off from work here."
"Great news. I am in town and called to see if you would like to go out to dinner with me tomorrow to celebrate Valentine's Day?" Reid asked.
"Sure, that sounds wonderful," Allyson answered.
We continued our phone call and decided on the place to meet the next evening.
The next day I worked with Horatio in the lab examining samples and working on a solution that would allow the Kronians to survive without their life support suits.
About two hours before I was to meet Reid, I got ready. I put on the only black dress that I had with me at the headquarters and my new black stiletto heels. The limo Reid sent took me to Aqua where I was meeting him and we were having dinner.
Days later, the dinner was still going though my thoughts when Horatio said that I seemed distracted and asked me what was wrong. I told him that Reid had confessed his love for me and had asked me to marry him. It was something that I had waited a long time to hear but now that I had commitments to the Wardens, I did not know what to do. Reid is a department head at UCLA and I would have to move to L.A. be with him. I asked Horatio what he thought should I choose love or duty and commitment.
He smiled and said that life was full of choices and sometimes the ones we make look good at the time we make them but then later in hindsight seem to have been a bad choice. The key is to make a decision, good or bad, choosing is more important that not choosing and letting someone else dictate your life. You have commitments to others, so you must decide to whom you will remain faithful and who must wait for another day.
It all sounded like some self-help psychobabble but I think Horatio agreed with my feeling that I should remain with the Wardens. Reid would just have to bind his time. If we were meant to be then fate would allow us to be together in the end.
